Jackson Lahmeyer suspended his Oklahoma House campaign after Donald Trump switched his endorsement to Mark Tedford, following Lahmeyer’s acknowledgment that he crossed a boundary in messages to a woman. Lahmeyer’s withdrawal gave Tedford the primary victory.
Lahmeyer suspended his campaign minutes after Trump shifted his support to state Rep. Mark Tedford. The change followed publication of text messages Lahmeyer exchanged with a former Miss Oklahoma pageant winner; Lahmeyer said the messages were misrepresented but acknowledged crossing a boundary. He said he did not want to distract his family, church or Oklahoma’s 1st Congressional District.
