Shenna Bellows and Nirav Shah dropped out, leaving Jackson to prepare for a November race against Republican Sen. Susan Collins.
More than two-thirds of Maine’s 601 Democratic delegates had committed to support Jackson, who gained enough delegates to cross the 50 percent threshold.
