A fourth recent poll puts James Talarico at 47% and Ken Paxton at 43% among likely Texas voters, a gap within the poll’s margin of error. Other recent polls also show Talarico narrowly ahead.
The Texas Pulse/Texas A&M Bush School poll, released August 7 and conducted July 27–30 among 619 likely voters, found Talarico leading Paxton 47% to 43%, within its 4.7-point margin of error. ReconMR analyst Lindsey Hendren said Talarico’s lead among independent voters had grown since June. The poll also showed Paxton with a 40%–52% favorability rating and Talarico with a 46%–39% rating.
Other recent surveys cited in the article also showed Talarico ahead: a Texas Southern University poll had him leading 47% to 45%, a Fox News poll showed 51% to 48%, and a Texas Public Opinion Research poll showed 45% to 40%.
