Rep. Marcy Kaptur was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries after a crash in Toledo, police and her office said. Police said the hit-skip investigation is ongoing.
Police said officers responded to a hit-skip crash in Toledo shortly before 11 a.m. on Sunday, and that Kaptur and another person were taken to a hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening. Her office said she was a passenger on her way to church when the vehicle was hit, and that she was active and alert while receiving treatment.
A witness told WTOL 11 that the other driver left the scene in another vehicle. Police said the investigation was in its early stages and remained active. Kaptur's office said she was grateful for constituents' well-wishes and hoped to return to her schedule soon.
