Jackson Lahmeyer withdrew from the Republican runoff for Oklahoma’s 1st Congressional District after a texting scandal, shortly after Donald Trump withdrew his endorsement and backed Mark Tedford. Lahmeyer said his decision to leave the race was made before Trump changed his endorsement.
Tulsa pastor Jackson Lahmeyer said he was suspending his campaign for Congress after intimate text messages between him and Caitlin Key were reported. Lahmeyer acknowledged crossing a boundary in the messages but said they had been selectively presented. He told The Hill that he decided to withdraw the night before Trump changed his endorsement.
