Josh Hawley criticized Mitch McConnell for not sharing more about his health after an extended absence from Congress. Hawley also renewed his call for congressional term limits.
In a July 19 interview with Fox News Digital, Hawley wished McConnell and his family well but said McConnell had an obligation to tell constituents and the country what was happening. Hawley said he had been unaware of McConnell’s health condition.
McConnell had said on July 12 that he had been hospitalized after a fall, experienced mild pneumonia, and had moved to a rehabilitation center. In the interview, Hawley also criticized the difficulty of advancing measures such as voter ID and voiced support for a constitutional amendment imposing term limits.
