During his State of the Union address, Donald Trump’s immigration remarks prompted Rep. Ilhan Omar and Rep. Rashida Tlaib to heckle him. Trump answered with accusations against Democrats, while Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy later criticized the interruptions.
Democrats had planned to sit silently during the address, but Omar shouted, “You have killed Americans,” after Trump criticized Minnesota and its Somali community while defending his immigration policies. Tlaib also objected to Trump’s remarks about the community and his immigration crackdown.
