Five Republican candidates for Louisiana’s 6th Congressional District debated in Denham Springs, discussing cost of living, federal spending, energy and data-center incentives. Their comments included differing considerations about community impacts and whether taxpayers should support data-center projects.
Monique Appeaning, Larry Davis III, Rick Edmonds, Michael Mebruer and Stephen Wagley took part in a debate moderated by radio host Moon Griffon. The candidates discussed issues including cost of living, federal spending and Louisiana’s energy industry.
On data centers, Davis said views differ across the district, while Appeaning highlighted water quality. Wagley said projects should be judged by whether they benefit local residents, and Mebruer argued that companies should be able to stand on their own merits. The article also lists voter registration, early voting and absentee ballot deadlines.
