President Donald Trump endorsed Rep. Andy Barr in Kentucky’s Republican Senate primary and said he had asked candidate Nate Morris to leave the race for an ambassador role. Morris said he was also endorsing Barr; the primary is scheduled for May 19.

Trump also said he had asked Morris to step aside and join his administration as an ambassador. Morris responded on X that he was endorsing Barr. Trump has also backed Ed Gallrein, the Republican challenger to Rep. Thomas Massie, in Kentucky’s fourth congressional district primary.
