President Donald Trump held a call-in rally urging Virginians to vote for three Republican House members, praising them and attacking their Democratic challengers. Elaine Luria responded by criticizing Jennifer Kiggans’s record and loyalty to Trump.
Trump used the Thursday evening call to endorse Representatives Rob Wittman, Jen Kiggans and John McGuire, calling them “warriors.” He praised Wittman’s military record, criticized Democratic challengers Shannon Taylor and Elaine Luria, and described McGuire as a “rock-solid vote” on issues including borders, taxes and the military.
Luria responded that Kiggans votes with Trump and said Kiggans’s positions hurt Virginia. The article reports that Wittman, Kiggans and McGuire were running for reelection against Democratic challengers and that Election Day was Nov. 3, with early voting already underway.
