At a Sioux Falls Rotary Club meeting, Dusty Johnson reflected on his eight years in Congress and said political tribalism and incentives for bad behavior have made Washington markedly worse. He argued that voters’ preference for politicians who appear to fight, rather than solve problems, makes it harder for Congress to get things done. Johnson said he will leave office in January, after choosing not to seek reelection and losing the Republican primary for South Dakota governor in June.
