A poll commissioned through NonStop Local found Kurt Alme leading the Montana Senate field, with Seth Bodnar and Alani Bankhead trailing individually. The survey also reported differences among the candidates’ supporters on trade and tariffs.
NonStop Local and American Pulse Research and Polling surveyed more than 600 Montanans from September 19 through September 24. The poll found 45.1% planned to vote for Republican Kurt Alme, compared with 26.1% for independent Seth Bodnar and 18.9% for Democrat Alani Bankhead; it also found Bodnar would not overtake Alme if Bankhead left the race.
The poll reported that Bodnar drew more self-identified independent and Republican supporters than Bankhead, while a larger share of Bankhead’s supporters had not formed a substantive impression of her, according to the pollster. It also found substantial differences among the candidates’ supporters on the U.S.-Canada trade dispute and the effects of tariffs.
