Mitch McConnell said a fall led to his hospitalization and that he is recovering at a rehabilitation facility. He said he is not yet returning to the Senate but continues to work with his staff.
McConnell said he was briefly unconscious around the time he was hospitalized, received treatment for mild pneumonia and underwent tests. He reported no broken bones, concussion, heart attack, stroke, tumors or hemorrhages, and said he was regaining strength. He attributed weeks of silence about his condition to discomfort with sharing the vulnerability of aging.
