Republicans Against Perry endorsed Democrat Janelle Stelson and launched a digital ad targeting Rep. Scott Perry over his support for restarting the Crane nuclear plant. The group says it believes Republicans could help Stelson unseat Perry in Pennsylvania’s 10th District.
Republicans Against Perry said 96% of its members supported endorsing Stelson, Perry’s challenger, and the group launched a 30-second digital ad criticizing Perry’s support for reopening the former Three Mile Island plant, now called the Crane Clean Energy Center. The ad claims Perry is backing the project to help his “rich friends.”
RAP director Craig Snyder said the group expects Republicans dissatisfied with MAGA policies to help defeat Perry. Perry beat Stelson by just over 5,100 votes in 2024. After touring the Crane facility with Interior Secretary Doug Burgum in May, Perry called for regulatory reform to encourage nuclear-energy investment.
