Rep. Ralph Norman said he plans to run for the Senate seat in South Carolina after Sen. Lindsey Graham’s death. President Donald Trump had said he asked Darline Graham to run and would endorse her.
Norman announced on Fox News that he plans to seek the South Carolina Senate seat. He said he would focus on advancing President Trump’s “America First” agenda and described the country as being at a crossroads. Norman previously ran unsuccessfully for South Carolina governor and has represented the state’s 5th Congressional District since 2017.
Trump said he had asked Darline Graham to run in the special Republican primary and would endorse her. Darline Graham was sworn in to fill the seat on an interim basis, and Republicans Duke Buckner and Mark Lynch had also announced plans to seek it. Candidates could formally file the following week.
