President Donald Trump endorsed Brandon Herrera for Texas’ 23rd Congressional District after Herrera became the Republican nominee following Tony Gonzales’ withdrawal. Herrera will face Democratic nominee Katy Padilla-Stout.
Trump endorsed Herrera in a Truth Social post, praising his support for Republican campaign issues including school choice, border security and gun rights. Herrera had won the most votes in the March 3 Republican primary but did not initially secure the nomination outright; Gonzales withdrew two days after admitting to an affair with a staffer.
