Mitch McConnell has been out of public view for more than three months after a fall, and his absence is affecting Senate business, including stalling the Farm Bill. His office has not provided a timeline for his return.

His office previously said he would recover at home while continuing official work; the article reports he was absent from the Senate floor when lawmakers returned after a five-week recess and that he had missed dozens of recorded votes.
The article says McConnell’s absence has left the Senate Agriculture Committee tied 11-11 along party lines, stalling the Farm Bill ahead of its end-of-September expiration. It also says national defense spending could face delays. Kentucky Gov.
