Jamie Davis won Louisiana Democrats’ Senate runoff nomination and will face a difficult race in the general election. The article also reports that incumbent Republican Bill Cassidy lost his party’s renomination bid and that Julia Letlow and John Fleming advanced to a runoff.
The Associated Press reported that farmer and former parish official Jamie Davis defeated business owner Gary Crockett in the Democratic Senate runoff. Davis, who had support from the state party and a campaign advantage, will face a steep challenge in a state described as reliably Republican.
