A Fort Worth man was charged with making a terroristic threat after allegedly sending violent messages to U.S. Senate candidate James Talarico. Talarico and his staff told investigators they feared serious injury, and campaign security was enhanced.
According to an arrest affidavit, Billy James McFatridge was arrested on Aug. 25 and charged with making a terroristic threat toward a public servant. Investigators said he sent Talarico threatening messages in August, and McFatridge acknowledged owning the accounts used to send them. He told investigators he wanted to scare Talarico and did not intend to hurt anyone.
Talarico and his staff told investigators they feared serious injury, and security was increased for future campaign stops. McFatridge’s bond conditions include GPS monitoring and staying away from Talarico campaign events and government buildings.
