Crockett announced endorsements of 14 Texas candidates in coordination with FIRE PAC, including Letitia Plummer and Darrell Jordan Jr. She said the endorsements were aimed at city, state and district races, rather than top-of-ticket races. Talarico, who defeated Crockett in the Democratic Senate primary, was not endorsed. The Texas Secretary of State’s Office reported that he received 53 percent of the vote to Crockett’s 45 percent.
Crockett said winning more seats in the Texas Legislature and at the city and county level was important for advancing goals such as public school funding, Medicaid expansion and infrastructure improvements. She also said on CNN that she would campaign with Talarico only to help down-ballot Democrats and was more likely to avoid campaigning with him.
